Date: Fri Sep 22, 2000 3:51pm I had a reaction back in 1994. I haven't told anyone because I was too ashamed until I found this list. I was given anafranil for sever depression in 1993. It didn't help and I was given lithyem. It didn't help either so I tried a few herbal remedies. Finally they gave me prozac and it seemed to help some. After about three months I was so tired that all I did was sleep. I woke up one morning about 3 am and was confused about what I was taking. I took the anafranil and went to bed. Than I got up and took the lithyem. I woke up an hour later and thought I was still on the herbal remedies. I took a few of those and went back to bed about 5 am. Around 10 am I woke up with a pain in my side and was shocked to see my belly was as big as a large beachball. I couldn't set up to get out of bed because of the pressure. I knew I had to dial 911, but the phone was in the living room and I couldn't get up. I started to panic and felt myself passing out. I woke up two hours later and was so big my shorts were ripped apart from front to back. I knew if I didn't do something before I passed out again I would explode! I rolled half was out of the bed and was stuck with my shoulder on the floor and the rest of my body still on the bed. I managed to through an ash tray through the bedroom window and got someone's attention. My landlord came in and called 911 when she saw my condition. When the medics got there I was so full of air that I couldn't talk to tell them what I had taken.I would open my mouth but no sound would come out. They rushed me to the hospital and the only thing they could find out from my doctor was that I was taking prozac. My arms and legs were sticking straight out from the pressure inside my body. they gave me a muscle relaxer and was spreading and probing to try and get the air to come out. The muscle relaxer caused the situation to get worse. I started to inflate even more. My belly-button was sticking out like a door nob and I looked like a pear with tooth picks for arms and legs. I heard them say, "He's gong to bust!" Everyone stepped back from the table and stared at me. I tried to set up and fell off the table and landed on the floor face down. The pressure from the fall caused the air to start squealing out. I passed out and when I came to I was in the ward with tubes in every hole they could get one in. It took about 2 weeks for me to recover and everyone got a big laugh. The only problem I have had from prozac since than is head aches and no sexual desires. I stay thirsty a lot, but test show every thing is normal. Thanks for listening, Dan
